r.e. hergert is a Boston based artist who has been drawing and taking photographs nearly all of her life. She sees drawing as the force and spirit of art. “I love to engage in this adrenaline charged mark making, attempting to portray the writhing gathering of life forms around me.”hergert uses the process of monotype printmaking re-worked with graphite pencil and oil paint stick–and any other medium she can get her hands on–to consider and observe transitions in her life, personal foot notes which have been tucked away over time, each with a story to share. For r.e. hergert, time is brief and these pieces reflect comprehensive moments.

Hergert has shown at the Middle East Restaurant in Cambridge MA, Harbor Lights Gallery at UMASS Boston, Flora restaurant, Arlington MA and was a participant in the South End Open Studios 2007. She currently has her studio in the Piano Factory in Boston’s S. End. hergert works as a corporate photographer and graphic designer for Rebecca’s Café and is continuing her education at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
