Mauricio Tejerina
A Decade of a Spanish Artist
February 1-February 29, 2008
The Gallery at Spencer Lofts is pleased to present for the month of February, Spanish artist Mauricio Tejerina. The group of paintings in this show includes work from Acadia National Park; Boston; Ottawa, Canada; Venice Beach and Santa Barbara, California.Tejerina’s goal is to make the audience feel warm, relaxed and “worriless.” The painters work is influenced by his time spent in the Dominican Republic where he learned to paint. “I teach myself color by observing the world around me with the eyes of a child that wants sugar on top of everything.”Mauricio graduated from Parsons School of Art, NYC, ten years ago, hence the title of the show. He now works out of his small studio in Somerville.
Gallery at Spencer Lofts is located between Spencer and Dudley Streets just off Webster Avenue and is handicapped accessible. Parking is available on Webster or Dudley Streets. In addition to the Opening Reception February 16, 4-7 PM, the gallery is available by appointment.
